The Efile defaults tab within the Efile setup allows you to:

  • Specify whether you want instant access to the Canada Revenue Agency assessment results and the Notice of Assessment (NOA). This setting is only available within DT Max T1.
  • Specify whether the Canada Revenue Agency will be authorized to contact you for supporting documentation during pre-assessment or post-assessment review and, if so, indicate the date the authorization is to expire.
  • Determine the method of contact for federal pre-assessment review.
  • Determine the method of contact for federal post-assessment review.
  • Specify how the efile authorization form(s) will be signed and dated.

Once completed the user's selections will be implemented toward all applicable clients within the database. Should you wish to override one or more of these selections you may do so through the Efile keyword group within DT Max T1 or the Efile-Federal keyword group within DT Max T3.

Please note that once the chosen expiry date has been reached DT Max will increment it forward, but it is up to the user to verify and save this new date so that it may be acknowledged by the program.

Lastly, when the client is electronically signing efile authorization form, such as the T183 form, then we would also strongly recommend specifying the date and time of the electronic signature, found under Part F of the T183 form, within the E-Signature keyword group.
